When is good to Follow up - Deloitte ME

Hi - I was interviewed by HR on 23-Nov which was mere chit chat round with a mention that coming week (running week now) could be a technical round of discussion.
Now there is a radio silence as we speak,

- when is good to follow up from HR ?

- I haven’t received email otherwise from them given that psychometric test and HR round has already happened.
- what is the lead time to hire on an avg. for Deloitte ME at leadership role ?

Thank you for sharing your situation. When it comes to following up with HR, it's generally a good idea to give them some time to process the interview and make decisions. In this case, since the technical round was mentioned to potentially happen in the running week, it's reasonable to wait until the end of the week before reaching out for an update.

When reaching out to HR, you can express your continued interest in the role and politely inquire about the status of the technical round and the overall timeline for the hiring process. It's important to maintain a professional and courteous tone in your communication.

As for the average lead time to hire for a leadership role at Deloitte ME, it can vary depending on various factors such as the specific role, the complexity of the hiring process, and the availability of key decision-makers. While I don't have access to specific data on Deloitte ME's hiring timelines, it's not uncommon for the hiring process for leadership roles to take several weeks or even a couple of months.

I recommend staying patient and proactive during the process. If you haven't received any communication from HR after the expected timeframe, it's appropriate to follow up again to inquire about the status and express your continued interest.

I hope this guidance helps. If you have any further questions or need additional support, feel free to ask. Best of luck with your application at Deloitte ME!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with Deloitte thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, it is generally acceptable to follow up if you have not heard back within the time frame initially mentioned. Considering it's been a week, a polite inquiry demonstrates your continued interest and professionalism.
  • Moreover, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to the average lead time for hiring.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

1) When is good to follow up from HR?

I would wait at least one week from the last round and then follow up, unless they indicated a different timeline.

2) What is the lead time to hire on an avg. for Deloitte ME at leadership role ?

If you mean from application to offer, I would expect a range from a few weeks to a few months.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi,

I personally would follow up after 1 week if not hearing back - so this Thursday. If you haven’t heard anything by then, it’s unlikely that there will be another interview during this week anyway. They would usually give a few days of advanced notice. However, you hopefully will still hear back before the weekend so you have more clarity regarding next week. But in any case, use the time to prepare for your interview. Once it’s been scheduled you might not have much time left.

Best of luck

Hi!

Basically, you spoke with them barely a week ago. I'm not surprised that they haven't gotten back to you yet.

I would only get suspicious if you went over the 2-3 weeks mark. Anything under that is by all means acceptable. Only ask for an update afterwards.

In the meantime, apply to other firms. Diversification is key. Here's how to build an application strategy that takes that into account:

Good luck!

Hi there,

If it were me I would reach out after 1.5 weeks total. Tuesday morning (next week). Highest chance of response.

Remember that they'll ultimately reach out when they want to, but a polite nudge doesn't hurt (as long as you don't do it too much!)

Hi there,

Did recruiting provide any deadline? If not, following up after 1-2 weeks if perfectly fine.

Best,

Alberto

Hi there,

I can't comment on the specifics of Deloitte ME but I think any time is a good time to follow up with HR.

If the technical process is kicking off soon, then you're well within your rights to ask for an update on when you can expect to hear about times and dates etc. After all, you have your own diary to manage too.

Good luck!

Hi,

I would typically wait 1-2 weeks before following up. For leadership roles, this really depends on the process but when I was at BCG it took ~1-2 months once the interview process started, given the need to speak to multiple people + work schedules.

Hi,

From my point of view you can contact them 2 days after the delay they gave you. It will be the moment to ask for the tests.

Cheers,

Alexandre

I would follow up next Monday evening, i.e., they mentioned it could be this week, so would give them the full week to come back to me.

Most roles take a 3-6 weeks from start to finish, depending on number of rounds.
