Haven't received McK solve invite BA intern USA offices?

I applied for BA intern at McKinsey NA offices back in August. I think that when I submitted my app it said I would get an invitation for Solve. The deadline just passed last Thursday and I haven't received an invitation. Is is really true that all applications get the invite to play the game, or only the ones who pass a screening? Just curious to know whether or not I should try to prep for the game for when I get an invite. Do invitations usually take this long to be sent? Should I try reaching out to someone? Thanks!!!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, unfortunately, it seems like you didn’t pass the screening phase of the application process and thus haven’t received an invitation to the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment.
  • Moreover, I would advise you to check the status of your application, as you should’ve been informed via e-mail about the rejection by now.

You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hey!

Typically, not all applicants receive the invitation to play McKinsey’s Solve game—only those who pass the initial CV screening. If you haven’t received an invitation yet, it’s possible that your application is still under review, or the invitation may come later depending on their timeline.

Invitations can sometimes take a while, especially if the application deadline was recent. However, if it’s been more than a couple of weeks since the deadline, reaching out politely to HR or a recruiter for an update could be a good idea to show your interest.

In the meantime, it’s smart to prepare for the game just in case, as they often send the link shortly after the screening process is completed.

Good luck!

Hi there,

Unfortunately, it looks like you did not pass the screening which happens before the Solve.

Feel free to share your resume for a more thorough evaluation why that could be the case.

All the best,

Florian

No, not all applications get an invite to solve. There's a screening before sending out the invites.
