When to begin networking?

Currently a sophomore at a non-target, when would be a good time to begin networking with consultants? Am I too late/early right now?

Hi there,

You can start networking at any time.

If you make connections now, that could lead to event invitations and referrals later down the line. If you decide to start later and closer to the applications that would also work up to maybe 2-3 months before you plan to send your application.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi R,

It's not too early to start networking and it's absolutely not too late either.

I'd suggest you focus more on how you can differentiate yourself from other potential candidates in your networking efforts over the timing of the outreach.

Feel free to reach out if you need any specific networking tips.

Doesn't hurt to start now, in a light way.
