If I receive an invitation to complete the Solve game in McKinsey's recruitment process, does that imply that I have already passed the CV screening stage, or is the Solve game part of the CV screening stage itself?
McKinsey Solve Game
Hi there,
Q: If I receive an invitation to complete the Solve game, does that imply that I have already passed the CV screening stage, or is the Solve game part of the CV screening stage itself?
Depending on the country/application channel, they might assess the CV after the test. In any case, they will evaluate both the Solve game and the application material to make a decision.
Good luck!
Francesco
Hi there,
In most countries, it is used in combination with the resume screening and both factors are considered jointly.
A very poor Solve performance, however, cannot be outweighed by an exceptional resume.
All the best,
Florian
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with McKinsey thus far!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
Receiving an invitation to complete the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment could mean that you have passed the initial screening stage, depending on the region and country you applied to. In some, it is a separate stage in the application process while in others, the result of the McKinsey Solve will be jointly assessed together with your application files.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Not necessarily.
Some offices send out the Solve game to all applicants who have a complete and eligible application. Then, they review the results from the test together with the CV, CL and referral and decide whether to take you to the next stage.
Best of luck with the test!
Cristian
Hi,
you can assume that nothing has been decided yet and that CV and test result will be evaluated in conjunction. So take the test seriously and prepare for it accordingly.
Best of luck
It literally does not matter for what you need to do next - do well in the game!
Sometimes it's used as the 1st screening.
Sometimes it's used as the 2nd screening.
Regardless, you have to do well to get the interview…so focus on what matters!
