Internship Confirmation

Hi everyone,

I’m a student in Berlin, Germany, and I recently applied for an operations internship. After the interview, I received a contract that was already signed by the company’s CFO. I was asked to sign it digitally, which I did last Friday.

Shortly after signing, I got a confirmation email saying, “It’s all signed.” The internship is supposed to start on February 1st, 2025, and I haven’t heard back from the company since then (it’s Monday now).

Does this mean it’s officially confirmed that I’ve secured the internship? Should I stop searching for other opportunities and start preparing for this one?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Souvik,

Congrats with your offer. If they have sent you a signed offer, you secured the job.

If you still doubt, feel free to contact them via a polite email.

By doubt, I just mean it’s Monday, and I haven’t heard back yet. Do you think it’s normal for companies to take a bit of time to respond after the contract is signed? Is a slight delay typical in this kind of situation?

Hi Souvik,

Based on what you’ve described, it sounds like you’ve officially secured the internship. Once both parties sign the contract and you receive confirmation (like the “It’s all signed” email), it’s typically considered finalized. The company likely hasn’t reached out yet because they’re preparing onboarding materials or waiting for the start date to get closer.

That said, it’s always a good idea to follow up if you want additional confirmation or details about next steps. A quick email to HR or your point of contact can help put your mind at ease.

As for stopping your job search, it depends on your level of confidence in this opportunity. If you’re certain this internship aligns with your goals, you can start preparing. If you’re unsure or still want backup options, there’s no harm in keeping your search active until you feel 100% secure.

Congratulations on what seems like a great step forward, and best of luck!

Just to let you know, they mentioned “we are thrilled to welcome you on our team” on the same email where I received the contract to sign digitally.

Hey there,

Based on the information, it looks like it’s all done and confirmed. But just as good practice, get into the habit of getting clarification and confirmation directly from the employer on contract issues.

Just to add, it is normal for companies to take more time than candidates want on admin and contract issues.. nothing looks unusual here, but still would advise to reach out if you’re worried.

All the best

Yes, it seems like your internship is officially confirmed! When a contract is signed by both parties, including the company’s CFO and you, it is legally binding. The confirmation email saying “It’s all signed” further indicates that the process is complete.

However, it’s always a good idea to follow up if you feel uncertain or need additional clarity. For example, you could reach out to the company to confirm onboarding details or next steps.

Until you’ve fully aligned on preparations with the company, it’s reasonable to keep an eye on other opportunities as a backup. But it sounds like you can confidently start preparing for this internship—congratulations! 😊

Hi there,

If you’ve signed the contract and received a confirmation email saying, “It’s all signed,” then yes, it’s official—you’ve secured the internship. Congrats!

That said, it’s always a good idea to follow up with the company just to confirm next steps, onboarding details, and any prep they’d recommend before your start date. A quick email to HR or your contact at the company will give you clarity and show you’re proactive.

As for stopping your search: I wouldn’t completely close the door until you’ve confirmed everything is on track. Sometimes things change unexpectedly, and it’s always better to have a backup plan. But for now, focus on preparing for this internship—sounds like a great opportunity!

Good luck, and enjoy the experience!

If you’ve signed the contract and got a confirmation email saying, “It’s all signed,” then yes—it’s official. Congrats!

Just follow-up with them to understand when + where they need you come Feb 1.

Congrats again and good luck on the role - remember, interviews were just the warm-up. The easy part of the journey. Now it gets hard (for everyone), but you can do it if you keep working hard!
