Has McKinsey interviews process changed?!! dubai office

Hi all

I did the game and passed but was told first round is 1 interview only, I asked them about the final round, they said will share details if I pass

Has the process changed ? and what does this mean for me if i do not do good in 1 interview?

Also for final round, how is it going to be like?

Thanks

Hi there,

Not that I am aware of. There are always some nuances to the process but generally it:

  • Solve
  • First round with 1-2 interviews (PEI and case in each)
  • Second round with 2-3 interviews (same as above)

Cheers,

Florian

They often experiment with the process. I have also heard of others getting just 1 interview and then a no go decision to further rounds. It is really nothing to be concerned about.

As for your other questions.

1. If you do not do well in the first round then it unfortunately means you do not progress to further rounds

2. Not much has changed about the final round interview itself, your preparations do not need to change.

Best,

Udayan

Hi,

I got an offer at one of the ME offices, so I can give you my two cents.

From what ive seen in my case and with a few friends, this has been the standard process at Mck Middle East since Jan 2024.

You'll have 3 interviews for the final round. So the structure is 1+3.

Hope this helps and good luck :)

For some roles in some offices McKinsey is shortening the process to three interviews, with a first round with just one case as screener. If you don't perform well in that first interview, you are out.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with McKinsey thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, based on my experience, the interview process at the McKinsey Dubai office has not changed, even if in other offices, one might assess the McKinsey Solve result and your first-round interview performance jointly.
  • Moreover, you obviously have three moments where your performance will be assessed: After the McKinsey Solve, after your first-round interview, and after your second-round interviews.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen
