I'm interviewing at McKinsey for a position at one of the Latam offices. My contact point or talent recruiter explained to me that I would have to do 4 interviews in July, supposedly each week. I did my second interview July 2nd. I haven't heard anything from them after this. I messaged my talent recruiter three days ago and did a follow up today just to show my interest in the process. Is it normal that I haven't gotten a response from her or McKinsey?Β
Follow up McKinsey
One of the most frustrating things about interviewing at MBB is the time it can take to get answers outside of the traditional recruiting cycles (from top schools). I would say that it is normal and there are many factors at play including getting time with your interviewers for a debrief during a time where many people tend to go on vacation. McKinsey is usually quite good at informing you on the decision to move forward or not when it is clear.
All the best,

Hi there,
Sorry to hear!
I believe there could be 2 main reasons:
1. Potential hiring goal re-evaluation.
2. McKinsey fired 2k support staff last year, many of them in HR. I see this across the board with my clients and how this negatively impacts their recruiting experience, timelines, chaotic communication, etc. On top of that, its vacation season.
Fingers crossed that you hear from them soon!
All the best,
Florian
