BCG Summer Associate Internship Turnaround

Hey Guys,
I had final round interviews for BCG Summer ACI last friday. It's been over a week but have not recieved any updates (accept or reject). I have seen a few people post on linkedin that they recieved an offer for the position. I have reached out to my recruiter as well but there has been no communication from their side. Given that it's been a week and some people have recieved offers, does that mean I have been rejected? How does BCG communicate this?

Hi,

I would say the decision is final only when it has been communicated to you. Based on my experience, if you were actually an intern, they will communicate whether there is a decision to offer you the return offer or not.

There could be various reasons why they have not yet gotten yet back to you, and it is purely speculation if we were to try and argue why they are taking a while.

I think all you can do now is to continue to follow-up politely after another week.

The anxiety and suspense is not ideal, but hang in there!

Hey Aaryan,

I know the waiting can be tough, especially when you see others getting updates. But keep in mind that not hearing back yet doesn’t necessarily mean bad news. Hiring decisions can be delayed for a number of reasons—for example the two people who interviewed you may have had a busy week and been unable to debrief.

I’d recommend giving it a bit more time and then following up politely with your recruiter if you haven’t heard back by the middle of next week. In the meantime, try not to read too much into the silence. It’s normal for decisions to roll out in waves, and yours might still be on the way.

Good luck, and hope you hear some positive news soon!

Hi there,

It could be that your team (partner and/or project lead) was not able to provide the necessary feedback yet, hence the delay.

However, you should usually know what to expect based on your internship experience. These things are usually discussed during the internship and the people who evaluate you should provide feedback on your performance early and towards the end also discuss their recommendation to HR with you.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

Cheers,

Florian

Hi Aaryan,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, please do not read anything into this. Recruiting processes can vary significantly, and sometimes, they extend beyond the initial timelines due to various factors.
  • Moreover, since you have already followed up with your recruiter, I would advise you to continue to display patience. It’s beneficial to keep a positive and professional attitude during this waiting period, as the process is not yet officially concluded.

You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

I have an upcoming first round interview at BCG for entry level Associate. This is my first time interviewing at a big company and feel quite nervous. Over the week I have done a few cases by myself and one live case with a friend. Any tips on how to ace this?
