BCG Dubai - Senior Associate Advanced Degree

Hi all,

I applied one week ago for a Senior Associate, Advanced Degree position in the BCG Dubai office.

Here is my background:

  • I am a senior associate in Valuation - Big4 with 2 years of experience.

  • I co-founded and started the business for an aparthotel in my home country.

  •  This year I passed the CFA Level II.

  • I have a master's degree in Economics and Finance.

My questions are, how long does the screening process usually take? Am I likely to pass the screening process with my background? What is the current hiring situation in BCG Dubai/Middle East?

Thank you in advance!

Hey! :)

The screening process at BCG can vary, but it typically takes between 1-3 weeks for the Dubai office. You may hear back sooner or later depending on their hiring needs and the number of applications they are processing. It’s a good idea to be patient but follow up after 2-3 weeks if you haven’t heard anything.

Regarding your background, you seem to have a strong profile with:

  • Experience at a Big4 firm (valuation work is highly relevant).
  • Entrepreneurial experience (co-founding a business shows initiative and leadership).
  • CFA Level II and a master’s degree in Economics and Finance, which will be valuable for consulting.

However, passing the screening process depends on how well your skills match BCG's current needs and the strength of the competition. Referrals and networking can help increase your chances.

As for the hiring situation in BCG Dubai/Middle East, demand tends to fluctuate, but the region is usually active in consulting recruitment. Middle Eastern markets are growing rapidly, so firms like BCG often seek talent, particularly those with finance, valuation, and entrepreneurial experience.

Your profile seems competitive, but the final decision will depend on how your skills align with their immediate needs. Best of luck!

Good Luck! Alessa

Hi there,

  • Your profile looks very good for the region. You could also compare it to recent hires via LinkedIn
  • Hiring situation is quite bad but there are still opportunities, active testing and interviewing

Make sure to reach out to current consultants for networking and referrals, and also to receive insights into the current hiring goals. It can often make sense to postpone an application in times like this by a month or two to increase your screening chances.

All the best,

Florian
