Question about

Where do the numbers from the calculation come from?

I am very confused with the math solution for the revenue for Madrid. Employee costs are 8% or revenue , marketing costs 2% of revenue and variable costs are 30% of revenue. Where do the 6%, 1% and 33% from the solution come from? And also the rent is 5€ per m2 per store and not 50€ like in the solution, isnt' it?

Or am I missing something?

Hi there!

Some days ago another person posted a question regarding those numbers too. It seems that it is indeed a flaw in the math session, as these numbers are nowhere stated.

Best,

Hey there,

This definitely looks like an error in the solution. As a % of revenues,

  • Employee costs should be 8%
  • Marketing costs should be 2%
  • Other variable costs should be 30%

The 6%, 1% and 33% do seem to come quite erroneously abruptly

All the best

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • You seem to be right about the mistakes that have been made, and they don't seem to be the only ones. I hope they will be fixed soon.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming applications, pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Most likely a problem with the case that needs to be corrected.
