I am the first year MBA student and I received the first round interview for the Summer Associate position in the SOP Practice. I am curious about what's the SOP cases look like?
What is the kearney SOP cases look like?
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on invitation from Kearney!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
- First of all, I am sure you have done some research on Kearney's Strategic Operations (SOP) practice before applying, so you already have an idea of the types of issues your potential future colleagues will be dealing with.
- Moreover, I would advise you to prepare with a wide range of case studies, as it is not necessarily guaranteed that you will have to solve only operations case studies in the interviews.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming Kearney interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Hi there,
Kearney's case interviews are typically candidate-led, include a framework, some qualitative and quantitative data analysis (= charts and math). Sometimes, there is a brainstorming as well. Rarely, they still do brainteasers.
For the Strategic Operations Practice (SOP), cases may center on supply chain optimization, process improvements, or operational strategy.
However, avoid preparing for case types and focus on learning how to solve problems as a whole. Additionally, be ready for behavioral questions assessing your fit with Kearney's values and culture.
All the best,
Florian
