What is the BCG process like for entry level in London?

Applied to BCG. It seems that people have received invites to their pymetrics test on Monday and I have no idea if they send it in one wave or whether they send it throughout.

I've seen someone received an invite when they applied on the last day of the deadline (24th October) and as BCG is not rolling basis for entry level (they stated they will look at all applications after the 24th October), this makes me think that they're done screening and sending out pymetrics tests.

I am not sure how it works. I imagine they will be interviewing in a couple or so weeks too so does anyone know how it works? If I didn't receive a pymetrics test on Monday, does that mean I will be rejected? Not sure why they don't just reject now if that is the case.

Hi there,

Usually, these invites for recruiting tests are done all at once but it could also be that they are doing it in batches.

At the moment, you are not rejected yet so I would focus on continuing with your prep.

Fingers crossed,

Florian

How do they get through 10s of thousands of applications in a couple of days? The deadline was 24th October, they gave the invites on the 28th? As it wasn’t rolling basis, apps were viewed from the 25th (not sure if they work over the weekend either as the weekend was 26th and 27th… how did they get through it so quick?

a. It's much fewer applications than you suggest b. Most of it is automated based on screening filters

Hey there!

From my experience: it’s not uncommon for candidates to receive invitations at different times, even if they applied close to the deadline. If you haven't received a pymetrics test invite yet, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will be rejected; they might still be in the process of reviewing applications. Sometimes, firms hold off on sending rejections until after the assessment phase is complete. If you don’t hear back after the pymetrics test window, you can expect a response regarding your application status in due course. It’s advisable to keep an eye on your email and remain optimistic! :)

So if the 31st October is the test window and I haven’t received a rejection or any update after then, does that mean there’ll be more invites or does that mean we’re all rejected? It’s so stressful especially if they know they’re rejecting us. I’m not entirely sure why they wouldn’t just reject us knowing they already sent out invites?

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, even though it shouldn't be this way, response times for applications can vary.
  • Moreover, BCG often seems to send out invitations and rejections in batches over several weeks.
  • Lastly, I would advise you to contact the recruiting team if you haven't heard back from them in a reasonable amount of time, usually 2-3 weeks.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Is that true? Someone else said that BCG sends invites in one batch so if I haven’t been invited then I have been rejected. This isn’t about interviews… this is about being given an invite to their online test.

While I do not know who said this, I did tell you what my coachees' experiences were. Also, I read your message correctly, but thank you again for the clarification. I understand that you are feeling stressed.
