The application deadline is in January. I emailed them to make sure I really did submit it and they confirmed so. Am I out of running? Do all rejection emails come out at once? The same with Bain.
Submitted application to BCG two weeks ago - no reply
Hi there,
You're not out of the running until they actually say you are. That said, you're also not “in” either.
Please cast your net wide. Apply to lots of firms (I'm talking 40+) instead of only relying on a few top ones.
If the deadline is in January, you *might* not hear until then, but it truly depends on your recruiting channel + office.
Hi!
You gave the answer yourself. The application deadline is January. Therefore, you most likely won't get a rejection or interview invitation before that date.
Cheers,
Sidi

Hi there,
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:
- First of all, consulting firms receive a high volume of applications, especially in peak recruiting seasons. It can sometimes take them a while to process and assess all the profiles.
- Moreover, if the application deadline is in January, it's common to wait until closer to or after the deadline to start sending out interview invitations or rejections. This helps them gauge the entire pool of candidates before making decisions.
- Lastly, it's quite natural to feel impatient, especially with a fix deadline. I would advise you to stay patient and hopeful until you hear back; rejections or invitations may or may not come all at once.
You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Hi
If the application deadline is in January, then they have not yet processed all the applications. They will typically review all submitted applications by the deadline and then make a decision.
Wait till Jan. Warm regards, Frederic
Hi there,
If you submitted the application on the website, they already have it. It might seems rude they don't answer but it is perfectly normal these days since recruiters are under the water screening thousands of applications.
Just be patient and keep working on a wider application strategy to diversify risk.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear.
I wouldn't read into it.
They could also just be taking their time.
Instead, I recommend you follow-up with them in a week or so (in most instances they respond by the third week).
This is recruitment season in most geographies so that's why response times are also longer than usual.
I'd recommend you keep on applying to other firms in the meantime to diversify your risk.
Best,
Cristian

Sometimes takes a month. Having no answer just means that there is no decision yet.
Hi there,
Worrying about ‘hearing back’ is generally a concern among candidates (understandably so), but isn't very productive I'm afraid. There's so many reasons as to why someone may or may not hear back in a certain timeframe, which have nothing to do with a negative/positive outcome.
This is the case for overdue responses where a deadline lies in the past, but especially for cases where the application deadline hasn't even passed yet.
Considering the January deadline that you're mentioning and the confirmation of the receipt by the recruiting team, you'll just have to sit tight!
Best of luck,
Moritz

Hi there,
Q: Submitted application to BCG two weeks ago - no reply. Am I out of running?
You are not necessarily rejected at this stage. Usually the screening takes a few weeks, although it depends on the recruiting period as well. If you don’t hear back within a few weeks, you can follow up to ask for an update.
Good luck!
