Last week a PwC Middle East recruiter reached out on Linkedin for a specific role, department, and team indicating that my skills would fit the role, and that I send my CV to her email address "to take it forward.". I sent my CV as instructed along with a cover letter the day of, and haven't heard anything since. It's been 10 days. Has anyone had this experience? Does anyone know what stage of the process I might be at, if the recruiter already screened my profile on Linkedin, and what exactly is meant by “take it forward.” Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!
PwC Middle East recruiter reached out on Linkedin - what is the timeline?
- Initial Screening: The recruiter may be reviewing your CV along with others. This step can take time, depending on the number of applicants.
- Internal Discussions: Your CV might be discussed with the hiring team or relevant department.
- Further Steps: If the recruiter finds your profile suitable, you might be scheduled for an initial interview or assessment. Snow Rider
Given that it's been 10 days, it's reasonable to follow up with a polite message to the recruiter, reiterating your interest in the role and inquiring about the status of your application.
Hello Tiffany
When a recruiter reaches out on LinkedIn and asks for your CV to "take it forward," it usually means they want to move your application to the next stage, which typically involves a more detailed screening or initial interview.
Given that it's only been 10 days, it's possible that the recruiter is still in the process of reviewing applications or coordinating with the hiring team. These processes can sometimes take longer than expected (3-4 weeks especially during summer time when a lot of team members are taking time off).
It might be worth sending a polite follow-up email to the recruiter expressing your continued interest in the role and asking for an update on the process.
Good luck, and I hope you hear back soon!
Best,
Hani
Hi there,
- You are still in the CV screening stage, even if they have already seen your Linkedin.
- They are collecting a number of CVs of similar candidates and then decide how to move forward
- This process can take up to a month in the current market environment
Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!
Cheers,
Florian
Yes, this is normal. Sure, reach out to them after 2 weeks have passed. But this is quite common actually.
