Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from PwC!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • While I have not gone through this specific application process myself, I would highly advise you to reach out to the recruiter and/or recent hires on this team and ask about the case study, as only they know for sure.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi,

Already 2 of my mentees have done the PWC case study at PWC to join the deals team. Here is a brief summary from my understanding on what is included:

  1. Scenario Presentation: You’ll be given a hypothetical or real infrastructure deal scenario (e.g., a government privatizing an asset or a company acquiring infrastructure assets), with key data like financials, market conditions, and client objectives.
  2. Analysis: You’ll analyze the situation by considering factors like due diligence, financial modeling, risk assessment, and strategic options. You'll identify key issues and propose solutions to meet the client’s goals.
  3. Presentation: After analysis, you will present your findings and recommendations, focusing on clarity and structured communication. You’ll be expected to justify your conclusions and show how you would address risks and opportunities.
  4. Q&A: Interviewers will ask follow-up questions to probe your reasoning, test your understanding of the infrastructure sector, and evaluate your business judgment and decision-making process.

Hope this helps!

Mattijs

Hey there!

I never did it but some of my friends from university. I heard that the case study typically involves financial modeling, market analysis, and strategic recommendations related to large-scale infrastructure projects. Expect to analyze project feasibility, risk assessment, financing structures, and potential returns. The case might also include qualitative aspects like stakeholder management and regulatory considerations. Time management is crucial, so prioritize structuring your approach efficiently. If you’re preparing, focus on reviewing infrastructure finance concepts, such as PPPs, funding mechanisms, and valuation techniques. Hope that helps a bit!

Yup!

I actually run workshops for PwC's Deals team each year (full-day training programs for their consultants)

This is a take-home test style with extensive charts, data, etc.

Feel free to reach out for coaching support!
