Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, unfortunately, nobody can seriously answer the question about your probability of success, as it depends on a lot more factors than your education and field of study.
  • Moreover, consulting firms in Germany require candidates to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in German, so your aspired C1/C2 level should allow you to do this.
  • Lastly, please keep in mind that Bain Germany seems to be the only consulting firm in Germany that does not strictly require German language proficiency.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hey!

To break into MBB in Germany, strong German skills are crucial since most clients are German-speaking and the MBB interviews are also in German. While being in a high-ranked university and majoring in management works in your favor, achieving German C1-C2 proficiency is essential to interact with clients effectively. MBB values candidates who can communicate fluently with clients in their native language.

So, focus on improving your German skills alongside your academic and case prep efforts. If you reach C1-C2 proficiency by graduation, you’ll greatly increase your chances of landing a role at MBB in Germany. Keep working hard on your language skills, and you’ll be well-positioned!

Best of luck,

Alessa

Thank you for your answer! But do you mean it is more important to have a high German language skill than the final degree of an international undergraduate student?

If it is a target school for MBB, you should have a chance. But you are at a disadvantage.
