OC&C Application

Hi there,

I've been invited to the OC&C Online Test, which consists of two parts:

  1. One-Way Video Assessment: This includes three questions designed to assess how you think. You’ll watch a short video for each question, which provides context and information about the work OC&C does. You'll then have a set amount of time to prepare and record your spoken responses.
  2. Mapped Numerical-Based Multiple-Choice Assessment: This part has 18 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 30 minutes, focusing on numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Practice questions are available beforehand.

Any advice on how best to prepare for these assessments?

Hi Callum,

Congratulations on being invited!
Here are some tips:

One-Way Video Assessment:

  1. Familiarize Yourself with OC&C's Work: Since the questions will provide context about OC&C's projects, take some time to understand the type of clients and industries they work with.
  2. Structure Your Responses Clearly: Given that you’ll have limited time to prepare and record, train to give concise, well-structured answers. Use a framework like the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answer.
  3. Practice Speaking on Camera: Since it’s a recorded video assessment, practice delivering clear and confident responses while looking into the camera. Avoid speaking too fast, and take a moment to gather your thoughts before starting.
  4. Prepare for a Range of Topics: The questions may assess how you think about business problems or how you approach new challenges. Be ready to demonstrate problem-solving, creativity, and your understanding of business dynamics.

Mapped Numerical-Based Multiple-Choice Assessment:

  1. Practice Basic Math and Data Interpretation: These questions will likely involve interpreting charts, graphs, and numerical data. Make sure you are comfortable with basic mental math, percentages, and ratios.
  2. Work Under Time Pressure: With 18 questions in 30 minutes, time management is key. Practice similar timed tests to get used to balancing speed with accuracy. Many online resources offer free practice for numerical reasoning.
  3. Use the Practice Questions: Make use of any available practice materials, and if possible, reach out to people who have taken the test before to gain additional insights.

All the best of success,
Kairavee
