I got a rejection from McK's Dubai office (my first preference) after the Solve. Am I still being considered from the other two offices, one in Europe and one in India. Or do I have to reaaply?Β
McKinsey: Rejected from first preference after Solve, what about the other two offices?
Hey there,Β
Your Solve scores remained valid for a year and McKinsey generally won't allow you to re-do them within the year. And since you can't proceed to interviews until and unless you've passed the Solve game, you won't be able to move forward with your application in your second and third choice offices in this case.Β
I recommend you to confirm this with the recruiters in the offices you applied to as well and to understand your options in terms of when and how you can re-apply
All the bestΒ
Hi there,Β
I would encourage you to reach out to the recruiter to be sure. In my experience with most consulting roles in McKinsey, each candidate can submit multiple applications, with preference of up to three locations. All of these are linked to one decision process (i.e., the interviews). Each office won't conduct office-specific interviews. For the same reason, you may have interviewers from different offices during your interview.Β
I came across a case in McKinsey where the candidate applied to two positions, and the HR asked the candidate to pick one to proceed with the interview, as they cannot evaluate for two positions concurrently. So, I could only assume office selection will be tied to the same decision process.Β
Β
Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear it. The application is routed to specific offices only after you pass that step.Β
Donβt give up on it yet! It took me three tries to get into BCG, and the persistence truly paid off. Happy to discuss in more detail.Β
