McKinsey C&I Analyst Final Round Interview

Hi everyone,

I recently went through my final round interview with McKinsey last week and was wondering how long they usually take to get back with the results.

I sent a follow-up email two days after the interview to nudge the HR team, but I haven’t received any response yet. Do you think this could be a bad sign, or is it normal for them to take some time?

Would love to hear your experiences or any insights you might have!

Thanks in advance for your input!

Hey there,

Final round responses can take anything up to 2 weeks, but if you haven't heard back after a week - a professional follow-up is completely fine.

There could be many factors contributing to a delayed response, including HR confirmations and alignment checks, high volume of candidate applications, holiday season, etc.

For me, personally, it took almost 2 weeks for McKinsey to give me the offer after my final round. So hang in there and I wish you all the best! :-)

Hey!

It’s completely normal for McKinsey to take some time, especially after final-round interviews, as decisions often require alignment across interviewers and sometimes even broader discussions. In my experience as both a consultant and interviewer at McKinsey, a week or so is typical. Following up after two days is fine, but no response doesn’t necessarily mean anything negative—HR teams can be busy! If you haven’t heard back within a week, a polite follow-up is okay. Best of luck—I hope you’ll get great news soon! 😊

Hi there,

At the moment it takes a bit longer. You should ideally still hear back from them before Christmas/holiday season, I would even say today as most people are out of office as of tomorrow.

Fingers crossed!

If you haven't heard back by Jan 6-8th, I will write them a polite follow-up again to get an update / nudge them on a response.
