I was offered a role of analyst -consulting services at KPMG global services in Gurgaon, India. My initial joining date was june-july but then got delayed without any further doj update. Any idea when we would receive our offer letter and doj?
Kpmg start date
Hi,
this is frustrating. While pushing back a start date due to temporary business downturn is not uncommon among consulting firms, not sending you a written offer letter since you got the ball rolling back in February is unusual.
As the others suggested, HR here is the source to contact. But given the history so far, you should really keep recruiting just to hedge your bets.
Best of luck
Hi Mugdha!
Sorry to hear about this.
I've been hearing of similar examples.
In short, no, no idea when this is going to happen. Most likely HR doesn't know either. They are pushing start dates because business isn't picking up as they would've expected.
If I were you, I'd stay in touch with them, following up every couple of weeks.
Aside from this - I know it might sound disheartening - I would keep applying for roles with other firms to diversify your risk. It almost never happens, but sometimes firms do turn their back on verbal offers.
Good luck!
Cristian

Hi there,
Q: Any idea when we would receive our offer letter?
It’s actually unusual that they haven’t sent the offer letter, even if the starting date has been postponed. I would reach out to HR to ask for clarification on when you should receive it.
Best,
Francesco
Hi Mugdha,
Congrats on the offer!
We have no idea when you will receive this. Did they never send you an offer letter?
Ideally, you want to get an offer letter sent to you and signed, so that you are “safe”. It's best to followup with the recruiter and ask
I recommend reaching out to your HR contact or the recruitment team at KPMG for an update on the status of your offer letter and the expected date of joining
You'll have to manage your expectations through chatting with HR.
I'm not saying they will retract their offer, but I would start working on alternatives, because no one really wants to be on the hold for a long time.
Wow not a good experience, check back with the HR team what's going on. Warm regards, Frederic
