Issues During Sova Assessment - Should I contact the Bain recruitment office?

I did the Sova test yesterday but had internet connection issues during it that meant each time I moved onto a new question the page took ages to load, so a lot of the recorded time would have been dead air while I waited for the page to turn. My neighbour then begun drilling the wall behind me during the logical reasoning test (excellent timing).

I think I generally got the questions correct - I didn't really have to guess any, but it definitely took me too long to complete.

Should I reach out to Bain to ask if they can take this into account / I can redo it?

Hi Natalia,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with Bain thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • I would advise you to reach out to the Bain recruiter and explain the technical issues you faced during the Bain Sova pre-interview assessment, as discussed via direct message. Please also feel free to mention the drilling noise that disrupted your logical reasoning test.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to continue contacting me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

Sorry to hear!

There is no downside in asking --> go for it.

Fingers crossed,

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the issue. In terms of your question:

Q: Should I reach out to Bain to ask if they can take this into account / I can redo it?

You can reach out to them as there is no downside. If the connection issue was a problem on their side and you have proof of that, they might be able to take it into account. On the other hand, if the problem was your internet connection, I suspect they might not help with it.

Good luck!

Francesco
