Hi Ganesh,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, to be honest, you should already be at a solid level of readiness for the interviews by now. Therefore, I would highly advise you to consider working with an experienced coach like myself to receive the acceleration and real-life perspective required to succeed in the interviews.
  • Moreover, other than that, practicing with peers is certainly more beneficial to individual practice. With PrepLounge, you are just at the right place to start this now.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hi there,

if you know that you want to apply for consulting jobs, then you also know that the recruiting process will entail case interviews. You should therefore make case interview preparation a part of your recruiting prep. Waiting to do practice interviews with case partners until you've received an interview invite is trying to cut it very close. You would be better served by starting with this sort of preparation no matter what. Because when you do get that desired interview invite, you might only have a week or so until the actual interview.

So in a nutshell, start case prep as soon as possible if you want to maximize your chances.

Hi there,

A few comments:

  • You need to be 80% ready before you apply
  • You should combine peer practice with individual practice (case drills and individual element drills)
  • You need a strong baseline to start with so consider coaching to get a real assessment of your profile and a preparation plan that guides you going forward

All the best,

Florian

Ideally, you should be 70-80% ready with your prep by the time you apply.

That's because once you apply, things can move rather quickly depending on the location and time of year.

And then if you're not prepared you end up postponing the interviews and stressing about your prep, which is never ideal.

No, it is not. In order to be prepared in the interview day you will need to start practicing BEFORE you receive the interview invite.
