Hey there,

Next steps for you could be:

  • Follow up for feedback if not received in 3 weeks: You should be getting feedback within 2-3 weeks, and maybe more to the latter given the time of year. But at the 3 week mark, it would be reasonable to follow up on the status of your application if you haven't received any
  • Start preparing (optimistically) for case and fit interviews: Don't leave case preparation too late. Too many candidates only start preparing for interviews once they have interview dates, and sometimes don't give themselves enough time to prepare. You can use this (holiday) period to really ramp up on case knowledge and skills
  • Network with Consultants in that office: It would be great to reach out to consultants in the Roland Berger Riyadh office to learn more about their experiences and advice on being successful (both in interviews and the job). Generate enthusiasm for the office

It may also be a good thing to try apply to other consulting firms. If not to just widen your net of opportunities, at the very least to have more real interview practice with them  in the build up to your 1st choice firm.

All the best!

Hi there! I hope you’re doing great too. Based on my experience (including an internship at Roland Berger + full time offer), the next steps usually involve a CV screening, followed by a series of interviews. Typically, this includes two to three rounds: one focused on personal fit and motivation, and the rest on case interviews. It can take a couple of weeks to hear back after applying, so don’t worry if there’s a bit of a delay. Best of luck, and feel free to reach out if you need advice preparing for the interviews!

I would wait 2-3 weeks before following up. Given the time of the year, it’s possible you won’t have an answer until early to mid-Jan.

Hi there,

Q: I'm wondering what the next steps will be for me If anyone can help, that would be great

For this position, you can simply wait for the outcome. If you don’t hear back after a few weeks, you can follow up with HR for an update. In the meantime, you can apply to the other consulting firms, if not done already.

Good luck!

Four main things:

1. Prepare for the online test, as many people (around 70–80%) don’t pass this phase.

2. Prepare thoroughly for fit and case interviews.

3. Follow up weekly with the recruiter.

4. Apply to other firms to diversify your risk.

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, I would advise you to read PrepLounge's Case Interview Basics, which is a great resource to start with.
  • Moreover, I would highly advise you to consider reaching out to an experienced coach like me if you're not sure what to do next. Generally speaking, you should be at about an 80% level of readiness before even applying, so it sounds like you may be quite behind in your preparation. As the most experienced coach in terms of consulting, interviewing, and coaching, I'd be more than happy to help you.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen
