Global MBA Part Time Manchester Alliance University

Hi there,

I am considering enrolling in the Global MBA Part-Time (Online) program offered by Manchester Alliance University to fast my career. I would like to know if this could provide an edge for a Junior Associate with Mckinsey for example or Consultant with BCG or Strategy& in Dubai. I am working since years in Big 4.

Thank you in advance!

If you are not doing an MBA from a top 15 B school globally your chances of landing a role at MBB post graduation are very slim. Unfortunately there is no online MBA program that is viewed favorably by any consulting firm.

Do you really need to do an MBA? Are there skills and specific knowledge you can acquire at your current job that can set you apart in the future?

Honestly, I have strong experiences and qualification, my question was this kind of MBA can add some values to my profile. Maybe I can apply to the three MBB and in 2 year trying to get to one of the top MBA if not hired yet.

Hi there,

Q: I am considering enrolling in the Global MBA Part-Time (Online) program offered by Manchester Alliance University to fast my career. I would like to know if this could provide an edge for a Junior Associate with McKinsey

If you would like to target a top consulting company after an MBA, I would recommend a top MBA in person. You might want to check on LinkedIn the track record of the online MBA you mentioned, but in general, I doubt that any MBA that is not from a top business school might help.

As an alternative path, you might apply now to your target consulting firms, if rejected, apply for a top MBA and then apply again after it.

Good luck!

Hi there,

If your goal is to fast-track your career in top-tier consulting, I would recommend applying directly to those companies now. Once you're on board, many firms offer sponsorship opportunities for an MBA at a top-tier university, which can significantly boost your career progression.

Best of luck with your decision!

Hello there,

Considering your goal is MBB, I think you should apply now to the firms with your current Big 4 experience and focus more on:

  1. Framing your professional experience in the best light possible for a coherent career narrative
  2. Networking with current consultants at these firms for referral opportunities

Feel free to reach out directly if you need any support on preparing your application.

All the best,

Fathu

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, unfortunately, unless you enroll in a highly competitive MBA program – and I don’t know of any part-time one – you will most likely not increase your chances of being invited by strategy consulting firms.
  • Moreover, if you feel you have a decent professional background and are already somewhat prepared for the interviews, I would advise you to apply directly and see the outcome. If you don’t get invited, you might still consider a (highly competitive) MBA program to increase your chances.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

I don't think that degree will help your chances, quite the opposite, as you are not branding yourself as a Top School MBA student (better no brand than the wrong brand). Online MBA, part time, will not get you where you want to be.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, any online MBA would not increase your chances for McKinsey.

I'd even argue that it would be seen negatively as there is an opportunity cost of not pursuing something more fitting (e.g., in terms of education or work experience).

All the best,

Florian

Does everyone know whether MBBs, as well as Second Tier strategic consulting firms are hiring in Middle East for entry level roles, no arabic speakers? I heard for example Bain applications have been closed for a while, does everyone know when and if they will reopen? Thanks!
