Hi there!

There are never any guarantees, but if a partner finds your profile a good fit, chances certainly are that HR will take it seriously.

Although we're operating in a difficult job market, I think Dubai certainly remains the most profitable office for most firms (and BCG is the market leader in the region). But that also means that there's a lot more competition in Dubai because a lot of consultants tend to move to the Dubai office even from within the firm (especially from Europe).

Either way, keep at the networking game and try and speak to as many partners as possible. Referrals definitely make a difference in terms of getting you a foot in the door, although once you're invited to interview, it's all on you!

Hi there,

Unfortunately not.

A referral can boost your screening chances, however, if

  • the resume does need the required criteria
  • the current demand for new hires is low or there is a significant number of highly qualified applicants

it could still lead to a negative screening outcome.

All the best,

Florian

Hi there,

As many have already pointed out, it doesn’t guarantee an interview. However, if a partner likes your profile and communicates that to HR, the chances of securing an interview increase significantly.

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, a partner referral unfortunately does not guarantee getting invited to the first interview round, but it significantly increases your chances.
  • Moreover, I would highly advise you to ensure your CV and cover letter are tailored to BCG and the Dubai office. As the most experienced coach in terms of consulting, interviewing, and coaching, I would be more than happy to help you make them perfect.

Hi there,

It cannot guarantee an interview, but it will increase your chances. They will also review your application material (eg CV) to make a decision.

Good luck!

Hi there,

such a referral will significantly increase your chances of getting invited to a first round interview, but there are still no guarantees. However, I would definitely take that partner up on their offer.

Best of luck

Based on my experience, having a partner refer you definitely increases your chances of passing the screening, but it doesn’t guarantee an invitation to the test or interview.

It's crucial that the partner personally speaks with the recruitment team to vouch for you as a strong candidate. Of course, it’s equally important that you meet the minimum requirements for the role.

I work extensively with candidates in the Middle East, where the selection process can be quite specific. If you need any help or have questions, feel free to reach out to me directly!
