BCG first round

Hi, I was wondering how long it typically takes for BCG to invite for first-round interviews. I applied for the summer internship position two weeks ago and still haven't heard back. However, I know some people who already got interview invites and some who got rejections. Is the timeframe for interview invites the same or do they invite candidates at different times for the same position?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, even though it shouldn't be this way, response times for applications can vary.
  • Moreover, BCG often seems to send out invitations and rejections in batches over several weeks.
  • Lastly, I would advise you to contact the recruiting team if you haven't heard back from them in a reasonable amount of time, usually 2-3 weeks.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hi there,

Generally, it should happen around the same time so my guess is that you will hear soon.

Fingers crossed,

Hey!

The timeframe for BCG to invite candidates for first-round interviews can vary significantly. It’s not uncommon for the process to take several weeks, e.g., atm in Germany, where it can sometimes extend to months. The recruitment timeline can differ based on the specific hiring cycle, the number of applicants, and the urgency of the hiring needs at the firm.

It's also worth noting that BCG may invite candidates at different times for the same position. This means that while some individuals may receive invites shortly after applying, others might not hear back for several weeks or even longer. So, there’s no need to worry if you haven’t heard back yet; it’s quite common for the process to take time.

Best, Alessa :)

Hi there,

Q: Is the timeframe for interview invites the same or do they invite candidates at different times for the same position?

If they had different application deadlines, they might screen candidates in batches.

Usually, the screening takes a few weeks, although it depends on the recruiting period as well. If you have not heard back within a few weeks, it is fine to follow up with HR or the person who referred you for an update.

Good luck!
