Can someone share to me how much is compensation for consultants in these 2 companies? I would like to know for project leader/case team leader. I would like to know base salary, average bonus and any other compensation details. Also, which level in Bain is same as project leader because Bain has manager and case team leader. Thank you!!
BCG & Bain compensation in New York & Singapore?
Hi there,
1) Can someone share with me how much is compensation for consultants in these 2 companies?
For Singapore, I wrote an article exactly on that, you can find it below:
▶ consulting salaries in Singapore
2) Also, which level in Bain is the same as project leader because Bain has manager and case team leader.
Case team leader is an intermediary level between consultant and manager at Bain. It is used for some experienced hires that join with not enough experience for a manager role but more experience than the one needed for the consultant role or intermediary promotion step. So I would map BCG Project Leader as Bain Manager.
Best,
Francesco
Hi,
Bain equivalent of PL is EM, not actually case team leader.
For salary details - drop me a dm.
Also, if you have an offer between these 2 locations, I would also encourage you to consider other important factors such as
- Maturity of market (developing vs developed) - this has big implications on multiple aspects of your consulting life
- Industry focus
- Travel requirements
- Working culture / office culture
All the best!
Hi there,
You can also use this as a networking question. Contact people who have joined the firm in that particular role within the last 6 months. Seek to understand from them how the recruitment process works and then also ask them for a high-level understanding of the compensation structure. Most people will be quite transparent about it.
Best,
Cristian
Hi there,
For New York project lead/equivalent you're looking at about $220-240k base + $100+ annual bonus. Signing bonus depends on how good you are at negotiating (hint: pay someone to help you).
It sounds like you're comparing salary before you have offers. My advice is to get the offers, realize you probably only have 1 offer (if you're lucky), and then you won't even have a choice to make. If you do happen to get 2 offers, decide from there!
If you're debating between NYC and Singapore, I recommend you focus less on salary and focus more on where you have the best chances and where you want to be. You're optimizing for the wrong thing here, in my personal opinion.
In general, glassdoor is a good source for that kind of information, assuming that the location has relevant “volume” of workers (which is the case).
