Bain London office applications for experienced hires

Hi preplounge comunity,

Does anyone know when Bain (London) will reopen applications?   I will apply as an experienced hire and just seen on their job posting that applications are now closed as they have all the slots for their upcoming start dates, is the upcoming start date in January? I would like to understand the recruiting cycles a bit better, if anyone has any knowledge of the London office. They mentioned that they will post timelines when application reopen I would like to have an idea of how this looks like to see if I can apply to other firms and still have time to  apply to Bain as is my top choice

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

The market in the UK/Europe is not great at the moment (they are even sending some consultants to work on Middle East projects).

While technically external hiring is “always” open, my best bet is that it will actually be feasible/fruitful to apply starting next year.

Remember, networking helps immensely here with both gaining insight AND increasing your chances of being invited to interview.

Hi,

Typically for experienced hires, there is no ‘fixed’ recruiting cycles. It is normally on a rolling basis and dependent on the slots/needs of the firm.

Sometimes they may post availabilities online (website, LinkedIn), but this may not always be the case. Best thing to do is check with recruiting/HR in the London office.

If you haven't started networking yet, I'd strongly suggest that you do - this can help not just with recruiting intel but also with a potential referral.

All the best!

Hi there!

We would all like to understand them better :)

Basically, each company and location can set their own cycle. Now that firms went through an agressive hiring period over the past couple of years, they're a bit more temperate about how many people they hire. So some offices have closed or significantly reduced hiring for this year.

Your best bet is to contact HR and get an update from them. My expeectation would be that indeed they will re-open at the start of the year (most likely second half of Jan).

Hi there,

The hiring cycle in MBB for experienced hires is continuous. Work on expanding your network to get some referrals. They always accelerate recruiting processes.

Hi there,

Q: Does anyone know when Bain (London) will reopen applications? I will apply as an experienced hire.

I am not sure when they will reopen exactly, however given you are applying as an experienced hire and they just closed applications, I would recommend looking for a referral and checking with them internally.

In this way, you should (i) get updated information and be able to apply immediately when there is a new opening, which might lead to an advantage and (ii) strengthen the application anyway with the referral.

You can find more on referrals below:

Good luck!
