analysis group

Hi have you guys heard a consulting firm Analysis Group? It's an economic consulting company, what the exit opportunities look like at those type of firm? If my target is PE firms or tech firm corp strategies, do I have a shot if I work there for 2 years?

PS I am doing MBA now

It's definitely a great company and a reputable one. However, it's probably not the most direct route there. They certainly teach useful skills, and ones that could be applicable to PE and tech firms, however you'd want to make sure your experiences there don't narrow you into more of an economics track

Hi Anonymous,

Analysis Group is definitely a good economic consulting firm – however economic consulting is not a good choice if you want to land in PE or tech strategy. A good part of the work you do in economic consulting is related to litigation and antitrust – definitely interesting but not the natural path to neither PE nor tech strategy. Exits may be government, data analysis and possibly equity research in some cases.

For PE, the best options would be to do few years in M&A in top IB company (Goldman, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan) or, in some geographies, MBB. For tech strategy, MBB would definitely be one of the best choices.

Best,

Francesco

Hello!

Agree with the other coaches, indeed it´s a good firm.

However, if your target is PE, it would be best to get PE, DD and M&A experience in MBB or even Oliver Wyman, or directly top IB (Morgan, Goldman, etc.)

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

That's for sure a good company, but not the best fit if you want to work in PE later.
What are the other options that you are considering?

Best,
Luca

It's a good company, but if the target is PE I would try my best to directly apply there. Otherwise MBB/tier2

Best,

It is indeed a good firm, but it does not seem to help you achieve your goal. It is a great start for a career in an economic field. My advice would be to apply for PE/IB or for a consulting firm in a city with naturally a lot of PE.
