It depends on the topic you worked for as a research assistant and whether this is relevant for the individual position. Same for the startup experience. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a generel answer. It could be that your experience as a research assistant and also for co-founding a startup is considered relevant experience, but maybe less so than experience in the industry or a consultancy.
