Do you have any tips for your application process? How can I stand out?

Hi there, really relatable question!
The most important thing is to be well prepared. In my opinion that is the key: It's best to have worked on a few cases in advance, get to know the company and think about why you are applying to this particular employer. Also think about why you are interesting for the employer. However, this is probably standard in every consultancy and is expected.
What will really make you stand out, however, is your personality. At tkMC, this is an important factor, as we are a smaller team and personal fit is very important here. Be yourself and explain what makes you special. What experiences have you had so far that have taught you something valuable and that will help you in your future career? Is there a topic that is particularly close to your heart and if so, which one? Maybe you also find a topic which also drives your interviewer and you can have a really casual chat (also good for your nerves) - awesome!
These are things that people keep in mind - at least in my experience :)
Hi there, thank you for your question.
Preparation is key—get to know our culture, projects, and what makes us tick. Make your resume clear and relevant, and don’t send a generic cover letter—show us why you're excited about Inverto!
Case studies are a big part of the process, so practice structured thinking and clear communication. No need for buzzwords—just be logical, creative and confident. Want to stand out? Show your passion for procurement and supply chain, highlight hands-on experience, and prove you're a proactive problem solver. Team spirit matters too—if you thrive in international teams, even better!
Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm. We’re looking for people who don’t just want a job but are excited to make an impact. If that’s you, we can’t wait to meet you! 🚀
Hello :)
Very important question! The application process has a few stages, let me give you a few tips per stage that hopefully help you:
- Handing in your application:
- Ensure your CV is easy to read and covers the most important things Consultancies / we at DHL Consulting are looking for (international experience, previous work / internship experience in e.g. a strategy department, another consultancy)
- We are present on many events and fairs - perhaps you have already met one of our consultants and can refer back to a conversation and what specifically triggered your interest in us :)
- Online assessment:
- We want to test your cognitive abilities: Preparing similarly to a GMAT test has helped me a lot to get through the online assessment.
- Assessment center: Practice makes perfect
- Be prepared for case interviews. The way you structure yourself and demonstrate your problem solving skills is essential for us to assess if we could be a great fit.
- Show yourself. We really want to get to know you. What motivates you? What drives you? What specifically are you looking for?
- Come prepared with a few questions that you can ask during the interview - ideally about something that you could not yet find out about e.g. via desktop research.
- The material we send you in advance lets you prepare well, so you have nothing to worry or be nervous about. Make sure you fully understand the material, and join the practice sessions as well as company presentations & Q&A sessions we offer for every applicant.
