I received an MBB interview invite and have 2 weeks to prep. Haven't done much casing before and need to ramp up very quickly.
Can somebody help me create a study plan and give me a list of high quality resources for frameworks/structuring?
How should I tackle case interviews with 2 weeks for prep?
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the invitation!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:
- First of all, given the short time, I would highly advise you to consider working with an experienced coach like me in order to professionalize and expedite your interview preparation.
- Moreover, regarding the initial structure, I developed the “Case Structuring Program” to help exactly such candidates like you who struggle with properly structuring any case study.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Hi there,
In a nutshell, you need to
- learn a strong approach to cases and individual parts, including the right thinking techniques and communication.
- high-quality individual practice materials and peer practice opportunities
If you have only 2 weeks, the focus needs to be on quality over quantity even more so than for a normal preparation timeline -> The most effective and efficient way would be coaching, the second most effective way would be hiqh quality courses and practice drills.
Please reach out for a dedicated study plan and some resources.
Cheers,
Florian
Hey! Congrats on the invite!
Did you think about moving the interview? I always recommend that you feel confident about your preparation during the interview. Maybe this would be an option?
Let me know if you need personal fit/case prep support! Happy to help!

Alessa
Congrats on the interview! With two weeks to prep, here's a quick study plan:
- Days 1-3: Focus on learning basic frameworks (profitability, market entry, M&A, etc.). Victor Cheng’s Case Interview Secrets and Case in Point by Marc Cosentino are great for structure.
- Days 4-7: Start practicing live cases with peers or using PrepLounge. Aim for 1-2 cases per day. Also, start preparing for the personal interview (fit/behavioral questions), as this is often overlooked but just as important.
- Days 8-12: Dive into more advanced cases, focusing on communication, mental math, and creativity.
- Days 13-14: Do mock interviews, ideally with experienced partners. Focus on polishing delivery, handling pressure, and refining both case and personal interview skills.
Feel free to reach out if you need any help! I also have one free coaching session available.
Good luck!
You should ask support from a coach - it can be a great accelerator.
