Q: Does anyone know anything about how to prepare for the online case interview?

The BCG Online Case (also called Casey Chatbot Interview) is an 8-10 questions test BCG now used globally. It is structured in 2 parts:

• 8-10 questions to be taken in 25-30 minutes
• 1 video interview question at the end, where you usually have to provide a recommendation in 1 minute

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

• First of all, the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment (the "online case interview") will test your problem-solving abilities, just like a traditional case interview, but in a more structured, digitized format. I would highly advise you to practice case interviews beforehand, so that you are able to undestand industry/business concepts, develop a good problem-solving approach, and articulate your thoughts in a clear, concise manner.
• Moreover, the BCG Casey will often provide a significant amount of information, sometimes more than you might get in regular case interview. I would advise you to practice speed reading and be proficient at scanning large amounts of information quickly and effectively to focus on key points.
• Lastly, while there are guides for the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment available for purchase, you may very well just look through PrepLounge's Consulting Q&A forum to find the same information for free. Taking advantage of these resources will be invaluable in your preparation.

Ultimately, you want to first learn how to case and then apply this to the test format. The more practice you do, the better (So many online resources out there).

Beyond brushing up on your quantitative aptitude and critical reasoning by yourself, please check here on the platform - some coaches have developed very useful guides that are worth checking out. Usually a very effective way to get ready.

Yes - the online case is the screening test that BCG gives. 

You can find plenty of examples online and on this platform in terms of how the online case gooes. 

Basically, it's meant to assess the skills that you'll be tested for in the interviews but only at a more basic level (to tell whether it's even worth inviting you for the interview). 

Some of these top skills are:

• analytical thinking
• business judgement
• prioritisation
• digesting /synthesing large volumes of data
• creative thinking

In terms of the fit case, prepare (to begin with) the following 3 questions:

• Tell me about yourself
• Why consulting?
• Why BCG?

As part of the recruitment process, consider also finding a mentor / coach to maximise your chances of passing through the process.
