Great question! It is certainly possible, but it's going to be harder when you're going up against someone from a finance degree background. So, what does that mean for you? You have to be better. You have to

1. Network more effectively, building more advocates across the organization

2. Be sharper on your behaviorals, refining your story and the transition narrative

3. Disprove any prejudice on your technicals--you can't afford to mess up

Definitely possible!

I’ve seen people with liberal arts backgrounds make the transition successfully. You may need to pick up some financial fundamentals (online courses or certifications can help), but if you’re passionate and show you’re serious about the role, you’ve got a good chance. Networking can also be a game-changer, so connect with people in the industry to learn and get your foot in the door.
