Hi there!

Great question.

In theory, you could use both. The case is formulated in a rather convoluted way. 

In the actual case interview, I'd discuss this with the interviewer. At the end of the day, that's what they're out to test - your way of thinking through a problem.

Honestly, I agree. I think either # would work, but the important thing is to check with the interviewer and propose. Basically saying “I can use either #x or #y. I'm thinking of using # y but happy to use whichever # the client prefers”
