What does it mean after the first round at Mckinsey?

Hello everyone,

I completed my first round interviews on Friday. 4 hours later I got an email from Mckinsey Recruiting telling me "In preparation to the next stage of your recruiting process, we would like to request your legal name and full mailing address to ensure that any correspondance we may send you is delivered correctly". On the platform it is indicated that I should enter my legal information in order "to move forward with me recruiting proces".

Is this a good sign? Did anyone have a similar email after their first round?

Thanks

McKinsey offers w/o final round interviews - 100% risk-free - 10+ years MBB coaching experience - Multiple book author

Hi Anonymous,

In general it's a good sign, but there is nothing against taking your phone and politely asking your HR contact about the real reason for that. Everything else is speculation.

Hope that helps - if so, please be so kind and give it a thumbs-up with the green upvote button below!

Hi there,

That’s unusual but seems promising since they mention you will have a next step. I would contact HR if you don’t hear shortly from them after complying with the request. You may say you wanted to check everything is now fine and ask for information on the next steps.

Best,

Francesco

Dear A,

It may sound promising, but don't take my guess as an absolute truth and as Francessco recommended to you, better contact HR after some time for more details.

Hello!

Totally sounds promising, but don´t raise your hopes on something like this.

Cheers,

Hi there,

Sounds good! It could be a sign that you would have a next interview.

I would also recommend you contact HR to confirm or disprove your thoughts.

Do you need any further help?

All the best,

GB

Hi,

My first round hasn't happened yet but I got the same email. I think it's just an admin email sent to all first round candidates.

Hey,

this just happened to me too, I was wondering if you could share what was the outcome for you?

Thanks!
