Hey everyone, did my final round last week’s Monday. In the email with the invitation, she said that I should expect the results only this week. Is this a good or bad sign? Or nothing at all? Should I Just wait for the results and try to not assume nothing
Waiting for results
Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with McKinsey thus far!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:
- First of all, the timeline that is communicated to you simply reflects McKinsey's decision-making process rather than an indication of the outcome. I would advise you not to read anything into any of the information except the offer/rejection call.
- Moreover, I would highly advise you to use the waiting time to apply to or prepare for other consulting firms.
You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Hi there,
Q: In the email with the invitation, she said that I should expect the results only this week. Is this a good or bad sign? Or nothing at all?
This doesn’t indicate anything in particular. I would focus on the other firms in the pipeline, or if not present, just wait for the results.
Good luck!
Francesco
Hi there,
Correct - assume nothing. This is the normal process and does not indicate anything.
Be aware that wait times are currently a bit longer.
Fingers crossed!
Kind regards,
Florian
Assume nothing. They have a target date (that they may hit or miss) and when they are ready they will tell you the result.
