Waiting for results

Hey everyone, did my final round last week’s Monday. In the email with the invitation, she said that I should expect the results only this week. Is this a good or bad sign? Or nothing at all? Should I Just wait for the results and try to not assume nothing

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with McKinsey thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, the timeline that is communicated to you simply reflects McKinsey's decision-making process rather than an indication of the outcome. I would advise you not to read anything into any of the information except the offer/rejection call.
  • Moreover, I would highly advise you to use the waiting time to apply to or prepare for other consulting firms.

You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

This doesn’t indicate anything in particular. I would focus on the other firms in the pipeline, or if not present, just wait for the results.

Good luck!

Hi there,

Correct - assume nothing. This is the normal process and does not indicate anything.

Be aware that wait times are currently a bit longer.

Fingers crossed!

Kind regards,

Florian

Assume nothing. They have a target date (that they may hit or miss) and when they are ready they will tell you the result.
