Hi everyone,
I just received two offers to join McKinsey and Bain in a coveted European office as BA/AC right after my undergraduate degree, so starting in Fall 2024. However, while Bain was my first choice overall, after visiting the office for interviews my perception changed and I am now more inclined towards accepting the McK offer.
I would, however, reconsider Bain as my first choice should there be the opportunity to transfer to another office, such as NY. I am fully aware that it is extremely difficult to transfer to NY in general, and it can be even more impossible to transfer at the offer stage, so even before starting and with no seniority.
Nonetheless, I was wondering if it was worth a shot to mention it to the recruiters and if there could be a way to leverage the competing McK offer to obtain a transfer to the NY office. I would also be happy to interview again for a final round, for example, if necessary.
Do you think that this late into the recruitment process there would be such an opportunity, and if so, how would you approach it?
Thanks so much for the help!
