Hi Everyone, I am currently pursuing MBA in an European university. However due to some family reasons, most likely I will have to move to Singapore after completion of my MBA. Based on what I have gathered from my school's recruitment office and talking to local company HRs, I will have to look for jobs myself and apply directly.
I just wanted to know how this would affect me financially if I manage to secure a role in Singapore as a consultant. The firms I would be looking at are
First option - MBB
Second option - EY Parthenon / Monitor Deloitte ( or its equivalent)
So any insight on starting salary Base & Bonus would be really helpful.
I did not find any career roles for Ronald Berger / ZS Associates / Strategy& in Singapore, but if you have any other strategy consulting firm recommendations please do recommend.
Starting Salary for consultants in Singapore post MBA
Hi there,
You are going to get paid less but still paid well.
Comp appears to be generally the same SPD as USD. At a .73 USD to 1 SGD exchange rate that's technically a downgrade. Given Singapore's cost of living that's likely a further downgrade.
For reference, Deloitte appears to be paying $145k SGD.
Take a look at management consulted for more info!
Hi,
MBB generally pays the highest still for post-MBA, although some firms like Kearney are paying higher (to try and attract talent away from MBB).
Lastly, in terms of other T2 firms to apply to in SG, you can try for Kearney and LEK as well.
I can share benchmarks for both MBB and some T2 firms (have friends there still) - just drop me a dm.
Hi there,
if you could me a PM, i'll be able to give insight on actual, up-to-date comp data points for MBB and select Tier 2s.
Besides, I know for a fact that S& and RB do hire in Singapore and sponsor EPs for strong profiles - let me know if you're interested in connecting to my network in those offices.
Finally, rest assured that consulting salaries in SG are quite attractive compared to Europe. While exchange rate works against you, the significantly lower income tax (~10-12% on a post-MBA salary) more than offsets. Net net you will be better off than in any European MBB office, except Switzerland.
