Question on reapplying to BCG

I recently applied to a BCG office in SEA as a sophomore for an internship but got rejected after interview (in January). I am looking to apply for junior internship in North American office. Can I still apply despite ban period of 12 months because it is a different recruitment cycle? Also I initially was going to graduate in 2026 but now in 2027, will they notice this change in graduation date or not if applying to different region?

This is a tricky one. I believe the system will likely flag that you've applied for a position before.

Regarding your second question, yes, you should make sure to flag the change in your graduation date as this will impact your eligibility for intern/full time role

The graduation date matters less than the cycle you are in... BCG uses a global Applicant Tracking System. Technically if you are using the same email/profile, then you will already be logged as having applied once.

That being said - it's at least good news that you are graduating in 2027 since you can try one more time for a full time position in next year's cycle.

Hey!

Yes, you can still apply for the junior internship in North America despite the 12-month ban, as different regions often have separate recruitment cycles and policies. Changing your graduation date from 2026 to 2027 shouldn’t be an issue, but they may notice it if they cross-check past applications. Just be consistent with your reasoning if asked. I was also rejected once during my bachelor’s, reapplied later, and got an offer—so don’t be discouraged! Go for it! 😊

Hey there,

The short answer is that you can apply to the North America office

BCG's new application platform allows for decentralised considerations, meaning each region will review and assess applications for themselves. And yes, your application history will still be accessible / visible to different offices, but it doesn't necessarily trigger an automatic rejection (unless if you've done online assessments where the scores from those assessments are used across all offices)

I have many coachees that have not been successful in screening with at BCG in one office / region, and then re-applied to a different one and were successful there.

So give it a go.... All the best
