Oliver Wyman application process timeframe?

Hello community,

I applied to Oliver Wyman online (without referral) on 26th Oct, the deadline was 27th. They emailed saying if successful they would get back to me shortly, can anyone please let me know what is the typical timeframe for a response for the Cv screening stage at OW if I successfully   moved to the next stage?  do they always email all candidates regardless of outcome?

Many thanks

Hi,

Could someone kindly inform me about the usual time frame for receiving a response after the CV screening stage at OW if I've advanced to the next stage?

  • The response time can vary depending on the specific office and the recruiting cycle, but generally, it might span from a few days to several weeks.

Is it standard practice for them to send emails to all candidates, regardless of the outcome?

  • Many top consulting firms do indeed provide feedback to all candidates, regardless of the final decision. If you haven't received a response after a few weeks, it's a good idea to follow up with the HR department.

Cheers

Typically, the timeframe for a response after the CV screening stage at Oliver Wyman (OW) can vary. While I don't have access to specific information about their current recruitment process, I can provide some general insights based on my experience.

OW, like many other consulting firms, receives a large number of applications, and the screening process can take some time. It's not uncommon for firms to take a few weeks to review applications and shortlist candidates for the next stage.

Regarding communication, it is common practice for consulting firms to notify all candidates about the outcome of their application, whether they are successful or not. However, the timing of these notifications may vary. Some firms may send out rejections earlier in the process, while others may wait until they have completed the entire screening process before sending out notifications.

Given that you applied online without a referral, it may take some time for the firm to review your application and make a decision. I recommend being patient and allowing the firm sufficient time to complete their evaluation process. If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, it may be appropriate to follow up with the HR contact provided in the application email to inquire about the status of your application.

Remember, each firm has its own unique recruitment process, and the timeline can vary depending on various factors such as the volume of applications and the availability of interviewers. It's important to stay positive and continue exploring other opportunities while you await a response from OW.

Hi there,

1) Can anyone please let me know what is the typical timeframe for a response for the Cv screening stage at OW if I successfully   moved to the next stage?

It depends on the office and recruiting cycle, but in general it might range from a few days to several weeks.

2) Do they always email all candidates regardless of outcome?

Most top consulting firms do provide feedback regardless of the outcome. If you don’t hear back after a few weeks, you can follow up with HR.

Good luck!

Hi!

The typical range is 1 day to 3 weeks.

Anything beyond that gets a bit suspicious but even then I wouldn't read too much into it.

If it's been a month, you should follow-up with the interview to get an update.

And in the meantime, always keep on applying as a means of diversifying your risk.

Good luck!
Cristian
