no response after completed pre-assessment at Bain, SEA

As per the pre-assessment invitation email, the representative will reach out and share the result within 3 weeks but there is no for now, almost a month. What is the worst scenario for it? , rejected, low accuracy or else. Is it possible to reach out to hiring team? Thank you

Hi there,

it is not unusual that the feedback can take a while (e.g. several weeks), also in cases of a positive result.

Since you were given a 3 week time horizon by the company which has passed now, from what it sounds like, I think it is legitimate for you to politely inquire about the status of your application.

You will get an answer about their decision eventually though, they won't just give you the silent treatment. Just make sure that you don't halt your recruiting efforts by waiting for a single company as response times will vary and also might be slow. You don't want to lose time because of that.

Fingers crossed

At this point it makes sense to reach out to the recruiting team.

Hi there,

Q: What is the worst scenario for it? , rejected, low accuracy or else. Is it possible to reach out to hiring team?

I am not sure about Bain, but for McKinsey, delays in hearing back are not necessarily linked to poor performance. It might be that they are having delays with their recruiting pipeline.

Given that the deadline they indicated has passed, you can reach out to them if you want (I would recommend waiting for one week after the deadline before doing so).

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

I would reach out and ask directly.

At the moment, we are seeing much slower response rates and hiring processes across the globe, so it's not something you should immediately be worried about.

Fingers crossed,

Florian

1. There's no worst scenario. No response means they don't have an answer yet.

2. After a month yes, you can reach out to HR.
