Mckinsey Solve Test

Hello,

I gave Mckinsey's Solve Assessment this week. My concern is that my time was up before I could complete part 3 of the Invasion/Plant defense game. And in case of ecosystem, I did double check but I think I didn't supply enough calories to the species. Is there any way to understand the cut-off scores for the assessment?

Hi there,

You can just get an indirect idea according to whether you successfully finished the games. In your case that doesn’t seem very promising. Having said that:

  1. The game also tests how you got to the final answer
  2. I know cases where the game was assigned before the CV screening and they evaluated the test with the other application material
  3. I know cases where the candidate did not complete the chain with 8 species surviving and passed anyway

Finger crossed for you!

Hi there,

It doesn't sound encouraging based on your description of the test alone. Some offices do look at the test and the application package (CV+cover letter) at the same time, so they might choose to be a bit more flexible with one if the other is very strong

Hi there,

I recognize that this is an unsatisfactory answer but there's nothing we can say here that will add clarity.

It's not good that you did not finish the plant defense game and it is also not good if some of your species died.

Can you still pass? Sure. Are your odds lower than someone who did better? Yes.

Sorry, but fingers crossed for you!

Hello!

Agree with Francesco, who is very knowledgeable in this area, it doesn´t look very promising unfortunately.

For next time, there are many online prep materials, also in PrepL, that you can leverage!

Cheers,

Clara
