Mckinsey Solve game feedback request

Hi everyone. I completed the McKinsey Solve game two weeks ago but haven't received any feedback yet. As far as I know, interview invitations for successful candidates will be sent by the end of January. Should I contact the HR manager for feedback before this date?

Hi there,

Hope you are well. I see no harm in writing a follow-up email to check on the status but most likely HR is probably on leave at the moment. I know it is frustrating to wait for the results. I do hope you are continuing with your case preparations and PEI. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need any support. Thank you and best of luck.

Cheers,

David

Hi there,

Q: As far as I know, interview invitations for successful candidates will be sent by the end of January. Should I contact the HR manager for feedback before this date?

Yes, if you don’t hear back by the end of January it is fine to follow up with HR for an update (say around mid-January).

The time to get a reply after the Solve game varies, and, based on the candidates I helped, there is no correlation between waiting time and outcome. I once helped a candidate who had to wait for almost 2 months and moved to the interviews.

Good luck!

Hi there,

It is okay to do a follow up every 1-2 weeks but don't expect a fast answer in these dates.

In the meanwhile, you can check how the recruiting process works from an internal MBB perspective here:

I wouldn't.

If you know the deadline is end of Jan, then wait.

You're likely to be reminded of the deadline if you contact them anyway. Plus, you're only throwing sand in the cogs of these firms by generating more questions they need to answer.

I hope you get good news.

Best,
Cristian

Hi,

you are still within the “normal” waiting period for feedback. In case you don't hear anything by mid-January, it won't hurt to follow up.

Best of luck
