Hello!

I applied to McKinsey Middle East and then took the PSG game 3 weeks ago. I still didn’t hear anything about next steps or my results in the test. does anyone know about next steps timeline at McKinsey. do 3 weeks no answer mean I don’t have much chance for an invitation to interview? thank you!

Hello A,

It's not unusual for the process to take a few weeks after completing the PSG game, as there may be a backlog of applicants or the recruiting team may be busy with other priorities. Three weeks is still within a reasonable timeframe, so I wouldn't necessarily assume that no response yet means that you won't be invited to interview.

That being said, if you're eager for an update, it's certainly appropriate to reach out to the recruiting team to inquire about the status of your application.

Ultimately, the timeline for the next steps can vary depending on a number of factors, including the volume of applications and the specific needs of the recruiting team. It's best to be patient and keep your options open.

Best of luck!

Hi there,

It depends. I know people who have been accepted after 3 weeks and others who have not.

Given it has been 3 weeks, feel free to reach out to HR.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst…get those 20+ other applications to other firms in!

Hi there,

3 weeks is indeed towards the longer end of response rates but it doesn't mean it's a fail.

Give it another week and then reach out to the recruiter for an update on your application.

In the meantime, keep on applying to new roles.

Best,

Cristian

Hi there,

Q: Does anyone know about next steps timeline at McKinsey. Does 3 weeks no answer mean I don’t have much chance for an invitation to interview?

Usually they let you know within 2 weeks of the test but I also helped a few candidates that heard back after 1 month or more.

The response time is not necessarily correlated with the performance - I helped candidates who had to wait almost two months for an answer and passed.

Good luck!

Hello,

Not necessarily - I would say that between 2-4 weeks is fairly typical in terms of waiting time. You should feel free to politely reach out to HR to confirm the status of your application, however.
