MBB hiring in a Germany

Question

How is the hiring situation at MBB in Germany at the moment? I am especially interested in grad roled or professionals with 1 year of experience.

I have heard about hieing freezes a couple of months ago. However, I do not know how the situation evolved since then.

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

First of all, apart from perhaps a brief period during the COVID-19 pandemic, there has really never been a complete hiring freeze, in any region or country.
Moreover, based on the experience of coachees of mine, consulting firms in Germany are certainly hiring candidates at the moment. Therefore, I see no reason why you should wait, unless you are not yet well-prepared.

Hi there,

The hiring situation is definitely better than a couple of months ago. I had a few people go through BCG and McK and get offers (some are still in the process for the second round).

It's a good time to apply for sure!
