London Office Not Accepting Referrals?

An employee who has agreed to refer me for Bain's London office is struggling to get in touch with HR or navigate the internal system as it seems to have changed. Does anyone have any insight into this? Do they stop employee referrals during this particular season? Anyone having similar issues or recently was able to get a referral?

Hi there,

First of all, I am sorry to hear about your negative experience!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, it sounds like the referrer is not from the UK, which could be a problem. Depending on the country, referrals from one country may not be valid for an application for another country, both from a rules-based and technical perspective.
  • Moreover, please keep in mind that a referral coming from someone from another office or even another country is usually perceived as weaker.
  • Lastly, the only thing you can do is ask the referrer to further investigate the situation.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming Bain interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen
