My undergraduate background is not from business school, so I searched a relevant position on RB career website. I saw there was a non consulting role option such as "Business Researcher" that open for all major. But is there a chance to move into consultant role in the future, if I started my career as Business Researcher at RB?
Is there a possibility to be a RB consultant if I started from Business Researcher position?
Dear Ben,
thank you for your question.
We at Roland Berger are looking for consultants with an excellent academic record and require outstanding analytical, quantitative and conceptual skills. We also hire from a variety of backgrounds and have IT specialists as well as doctors among us. Just to be an example myself, my background is in business law.
Looking at your profile, I assume you are looking for vacancies at our Jakarta office. Please have a look at this offering as a Junior Consultant:

To directly answer your initial question:
Yes, like always in life, there is a possibility to make a change and move into another role but there is no change in requirements and it is no shortcut. The two roles require a somehow different set of skills and if your goal is to get into consulting, I would recommend to directly apply for a consulting role.
Best,
Yves
