Interview @ KPMG People and Change Consulting

Hi - Wondering if anyone has previously interviewed for KPMG's Poeple and Change Consulting Internships? I'm having one next Wednesday (via Zoom), and I'm not sure how to prep.

I have confirmed with HR that the case will be on People Consulting, and have focused on prepping for mainly human capital and organisational design cases (but not too much practice as I couldn't find too many available). Does anyone have any other recommended cases specifically for People and Change Consulting?

Also, wondering if it's typical for KPMG to ask market sizing questions during first round interviews

Hey!

Congrats on the invitation!

I actually know some people who have interviewed for this role at KPMG! The personal fit part in the interview was especially important since the role is all about people and the people business at KPMG!

I would recommend investing some time into your personal fit preparation :)

Great to hear you have an interview lined up.

And it's good that you have been doing cases from within that area.

I'd strongly recommend that you try to get in touch with a couple of people who have done this internship before and ask them how the interview went and what questions they got.

Also, make sure you find out whether there will also be a personal fit component.

Market sizing pops up often regardless of firm.

Hi there,

Big4 interviews for management consulting roles are not very structured. They tend to focus on the fit part.

I suggest you focus your preparation on two things:

  • Your profile (educational background, professional experience, situational stories on how you apply different consulting skills, etc.)
  • You specific functional knowledge on People and Change. Select some good stories from previous experiences. Be ready to answer some questions on hypothetical situations you might face at this position in KPMG.

Good luck!

Alberto

Hi there.

That is not a strategy role, and you are unlikely to have a “strategy case” type of interview… strongly doubt you'll get any market sizing questions.

You should focus on experience and personal fit, as well as technical and scenario-based questions.

Hi! I'm having the same interview this week, could you tell me a bit about the case you had in your interview? Would love to exchange!
